Alcohol

Alcohol is a substance that is used in a lot of cultures, whether it be during a happy celebration or used to just kick back and relax.  Unfortunately, everyday throughout the world many people die due to alcohol related accidents.  Whether it be car accidents or overdosing more than the human body can handle.  Alcohol is a beverage consumed by many individuals, what most people are not aware that alcohol is made with fermented fruits, vegetables and grains.  As healthy as it sounds, the only reason alcohol is not recommended to be used in large amounts is because when an individual drinks the alcohol, the alcohol gets absorbed into the bloodstream in which after begins to hit the central nervous system which would be your brain and your spinal cord allowing it to control all your body functions.  We’ve all heard of people who drink alcohol to calm down or perhaps even have done it for ourselves.  The reason we begin to feel relaxed and more kicked back after a couple of shots is due to the fact that alcohol begins to change our mind state which results in intoxication.  Intoxication is when the individual is not at their normal state of mind and may appear to act abnormal for example, the individual may begin to do things they would have never done if they were sober.  Alcohol is made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
There are many physiological effects that occur with severe levels of drinking.  Diabetes may be caused by drinking and if it is already in your genes than it is an even higher risk factor.  Your body begins  to lack nutrition, especially for those who become addicted to alcohol since all they all is drink alcohol.  There are many cancers that are caused by alcohol such colon, liver, kidney, pancreas, throat.
For those who suffer from alcohol or have had someone close to them suffer from alcohol, it is extremely hard.  When alcohol becomes the only reason to live, not only is the life of the individual who is alcoholic dependent get ruins but also to those that they surround such as their friends and family.  Alcoholics tend to enjoy drinking on their own.  They isolate themselves away from everyone and do not like the company of anyone which is sometimes hard for others to bare with especially if they were at once close with that individual.
SHIFTWORKERS
Due to the constant time changing shifts, the body’s natural rhythms do get out of their rhythm which makes the individuals usually
tend to be cranky and upset.  Especially with 9 1 1 shift workers, due to their constantly high priority work levels they are very stressed out and when they get the chance to, drinking is the way to get stress free fast.  As the drinks go down stress levels decrease and they tend to forget about their stressful day, which sadly may lead to alcoholism.
Signs and Symptoms of alcoholism may vary but the common ways to identify person becoming an alcoholic is  if they begin to drink alone not wanting to share a drink with anyone else and constantly finding them all of a sudden isolating themselves away from their loved ones.  Another sign would be if they begin to act violent and aggressive toward their family, not caring about anything else but drinking even if that does mean that they will not be able to provide dinner for their family or pay the bills.
There are many different forms of treating alcoholism.  Rehab, therapy, detox are all a few of the many different kinds of treatments out there.
