Drugs

Drugs are substances that change the way in which the mind and body work.  They can vary from legal to illegal and at this point in time they can be found anywhere.  Unfortunately individuals begin to experiment with drugs at a early age.  Many individuals use drugs to get away from their daily problems, they use it as an escape thinking they would only use it temporarily not knowing, that over time it will become a part of their life slowly destroying them with every ounce they take.

There are many types of drugs available.  Aside from the all the illegal drugs such as marijuana, heroine etc the most common types of legal that are abused individuals constantly are prescription and over the counter drugs.

Opiods are a common type or prescribed drug which is meant to be used as a pain killer.  It also causes relief of diarrhea and cough as well.  The downfall to abusing this drug is in result of constipation, drowsiness and DEATH!  Opiods have many of being used such as crushing, snorting and injecting.  These drugs are normally prescribed for pain. When abusing this drug individuals will usually snort or inject these drugs. Opioids work in the system by attaching to specific proteins called opioid receptors in the brain. When they attach  to these receptors it manipulates how a person feels pleasure.

Shift workers:

These can be use by shift worker to provide relief of back pain from sitting so long in one position, as well as dirreah which can be a result of high stress

CNS depressants is a common prescribed drug that commonly abused.  These depressants aid in slowing down the function of the brain.  They are commonly used for anxiety and sleeping disorders.  Over dosing on this particular drug can result in seizures and extreme slow brain activity.  The common forms of these drugs include Barbiturates which promotes sleep and Benzodiazepines which treat acute stress, anxiety and panic attacks.

Shift workers:

Shift workers commonly use this drug for sleeping purposes.  It is commonly abused to be able to fall asleep faster.   Also due to high stress for shift workers, this drug allows them to relax and leave situation that happen at work and their workplace.

Stimulants are another prescribed drug that is commonly used to increase alertness, attention and obesity.  They can also be used for weight loss.  Overdosing on stimulants can result in irregular heartbeats, paranoia and high body temperature.  Stimulants provide users the feeling of high alertness and attention, and increased level of energy. People may use this for enhanced performance and/or to get the high. Abusing this drug can result in symptoms such as an irregular heartbeat, paranoia and high body temperature. Some examples of this drug include Amphetamines, Caffeine, Cocaine, and Methamphetamines.

Shift workers:

Shift workers use this drug to enhance their alertness during work hours and to have the ability to be able to pay attention more.
Over the counter Drugs are also another common types of drugs that are abused by individuals daily.  Over the counter drugs are easier to purchase, anyone can go to a local drugstore and purchase any sort of drug that they want.  They are generally snorted, injected and swallowed.  People generally abuse over the counter drugs because they are cheaper, easier access, legal and yet give the same high as the expensive illegal drugs.  When they are taken in excessive amounts they tend to destroy the liver and kidneys. 

Shift workers:

Shift workers tend to abuse over the counter drugs a lot such as sleeping pills due to the irregular sleeping patterns and diet pills because of the constant changing of eating timings.  Other OTC abused by shift workers are tylenol and advil since they help reduce heachaches and migranes.
